Villerouge-Termenès Castle

The castle is also forever associated with one of the final chapters of Cathar history. It was here, in 1321, that Guilhem Bélibaste, often regarded as the last Cathar Perfect, was burned at the stake, marking the symbolic end of organised Catharism.
