Experience Southern France like a local

If you want to experience everyday life in the South of France, there's no better place to begin than a traditional weekly market.
Available only on Tuesdays, this small group tour combines local gastronomy, beautiful landscapes and one of the region's most remarkable medieval villages.
Browse colourful market stalls, taste artisan cheeses, enjoy lunch beside the Canal du Midi, explore the spectacular village of Minerve and finish the day at one of our favourite boutique wineries.
This is a day designed for travellers who enjoy discovering the real South of France beyond the guidebooks.

A Traditional French Market

Your morning begins at one of the region's most enjoyable weekly markets.
As local producers arrange their colourful stalls, you'll have time to wander through a lively atmosphere filled with seasonal fruit and vegetables, artisan cheeses, charcuterie, olives, pastries, flowers and regional specialities.
Your guide will introduce you to some of the local producers while sharing the traditions that make French markets such an important part of everyday life.
This isn't a tourist attraction.
It's where locals come to shop, chat and enjoy the simple pleasures of village life.

Cheese Tasting

No French market experience would be complete without cheese.
You'll enjoy a tasting featuring carefully selected cheeses while learning about local production methods.
It's a delicious introduction to another essential part of French gastronomy.

Lunch beside the Canal du Midi

Leaving the market behind, we'll head towards the peaceful Canal du Midi.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch overlooking this UNESCO World Heritage Site before taking a gentle stroll along its historic banks.
As you walk beside the canal, your guide will explain how Pierre-Paul Riquet achieved one of the greatest engineering feats of the seventeenth century, forever transforming trade and communication across southern France.
It's the perfect opportunity to slow down and appreciate one of France's most remarkable landscapes.

Discover Minerve

The afternoon takes us to the extraordinary medieval village of Minerve.
Perched dramatically above deep limestone gorges, this beautiful hilltop village has captivated visitors for centuries.
Some places deserve to be discovered slowly. Minerve is one of them. After introducing the village's fascinating history and its central role during the Cathar Crusade, your guide will invite you to explore independently. Wander through the medieval streets, pause at the breathtaking viewpoints, browse the artisan boutiques or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of one of France's most beautiful villages.

Visit a Boutique Winery

To complete the day, we'll visit one of our favourite wineries in the Minervois.
Meet the winemakers, discover their philosophy and enjoy a tasting of carefully crafted wines that perfectly express the character of this remarkable region.
It's a relaxed and authentic conclusion to a day filled with local flavours and memorable discoveries.
