blueleftimgThe Languedoc Vineyard Tour €330 per person (excluding flights and accommodation)

For this tour we will select accommodation in or close Carcassonne. This is a tour for wine lovers and will focus on the most famous appellations of the Languedoc-Roussillon – Limoux, Minervois and Saint-Chinian.

Day One we head to the Limoux region. This tour includes a visit to Domaine Gayda one of the leading and most impressive wine producers in the area and a place not to be missed! During the visit we will tour the state of the art winery and learn how the wines are made and matured and we will enjoy a relaxed and fun tasting of their excellent range of wines. This is followed by a three-course lunch with wine in their superb restaurant that overlooks the Pyrenees. After lunch we will take the short drive to the abbey of St Hilaire where the first sparkling wine was created by the monks in 1531. This is a beautiful abbey and we will spend a little time walking through the cloisters and taking a look at the wine cellar and the other historical buildings. Our final visit of the day will be to taste the sparkling wines that the monks made so famous. There are 2 styles of fizz wines made here, Blanquette du Limoux and Cremant du Limoux and we will taste both styles as well as the Blanquette Ancestral, that delicious sweet sparkling wine – very unusual and very palatable!,

Day Two we head to the Minervois region, one of the most beautiful area of the Languedoc and producing some of the regions finest wines too. We will introduce you to La Livinière which is not only a very pretty village but also home to the only ‘Cru’ in the Minervois. We visit the lovely village of Minerve where you will have a little time to explore and we also taste olive oil from a small independent producer.

Tonight you will enjoy a gourmet food & wine matching dinner prepared and cooked for you by our own chef. During dinner we will share with you our knowledge on successful food & wine matching and each of the 4 courses will be served with a different Languedoc wines so that in all you will taste 4 wines specially chosen to match the food.

Day Three we head off to the wonderful Sunday market at Saint-Chinian where you willintroduction_to_wine_tasting_1_ have the chance to wander the stalls and buy some of the delicious produce. The tour also includes tastings at 2 superb wineries and introduces you to the two styles of wine produced here on different terroir.

The Cathar Castles Vineyard Tour €385 per person (excluding flights and accommodation)chateau_peyrepertuse_1_

For this tour we will select accommodation in or close Carcassonne or Limoux. This tour combines history and wine and includes visits to 2 Cathar castles and the village of Minerve and 3 vineyard regions plus a visit to the Abbey of St Hilaire where you will discover the story of how sparkling wine was made.

Day One Your tour gets off to a fabulous start with a tour of Domaine Gayda & Limoux. Domaine Gayda is one of the leading and most impressive wine producers in the area and a place not to be missed! We also visit the Limoux region where you will learn how sparkling wine is made and taste the famous Blanquette du Limoux.

Day Two will be spent in the Minervois one of the most beautiful areas of the Languedoc-Roussillon and where the village of Minerve is located. The village is surrounded by two incredible gorges which create a natural fortification and where a small group of Cathars took refuge 800 years ago. You will have time to explore and learn the history of this amazing place before we enjoy dinner in one of the finest restaurants in the region. We visit 2 excellent wineries which will demonstrate the diversity of the wines made here and we also enjoy  olive oil tasting.

During dinner we will share with you our knowledge on successful food & wine matching and each of the 4 courses will be served with a different Languedoc wines so that in all you will taste 4 wines specially chosen to match the food.

Day Three we head to the Roussillon. We have combined so many delightful experiences including the sweet red wines of Maury and the castles of Quéribus and Peyreperteuse. The drive home takes us through the stunning Galamus gorge – the gorge of all gorges! The stunning scenery will amaze you throughout this tour so don’t forget your camera!!carcassonne_city_1_

french_wines2_1_The Vineyard Harvest Tour €330 per person (excluding flights and accommodation)


For this tour we will select accommodation in Carcassonne, Lagrasse or a village in the Minervois. This is a tour for wine lovers who would like an up-close look at the harvest and wine making in the Languedoc-Roussillon – Limoux, Minervois and Corbières.

Day One We start our visit at Domaine Gayda one of the leading and most impressive wine producers in the area. During the visit we will tour the state of the art winery and learn how the wines are made and matured. At this time of year the harvest will be in full swing and we will be able to see the grapes being sorted and graded before the fermentations begin. Afterwards we will enjoy a fabulous tasting of the Domain Gayda wines and then lunch in their amazing restaurant with views of the Pyrenees. After lunch we will visit a sparkling wine producer where we will see the production of wine made the traditional method and also learn about the world’s031 first sparkling wine and how it was made - Blanquette Ancestral.

Day Two we head to the Corbières region and to one of the tiniest vineyards in the region. Here you will have the opportunity to get involved in the harvest if you wish. We can join the small team of grape pickers to bring in the harvest of ripe juicy Grenache and Carignan grapes. Once in the winery you will help with the sorting and grading and the fermentations. It’s a great hands-one way to learn about wine making.

During dinner we will share with you our knowledge on successful food & wine matching and each of the 4 courses will be served with a different Languedoc wines so that in all you will taste 4 wines specially chosen to match the food.

Day Three we visit the beautiful Minervois region including the stunning village of Minerve. We will visit 2 wineries both in the process of bringing in their harvest including  an organic winery in the village of Saint-Jean-de-Minervois where we will taste the fabulous Muscat wines and learn how they are made.
