Weekend Vineyard Tours
Our
weekend vineyard tours are a wonderful way to explore the
Languedoc-Roussillon and experience the wines made here. The range of
Friday to Monday weekend tours includes visits to Limoux, Corbières,
Minervois, Saint-Chinian, Cabardès, Malepère and the Roussillon. The
tours can be fully exclusive of all meals or you may prefer to cook or
try some of the excellent restaurants in the region.
The main focus is wine but we also visit
places of interest such as especially beautiful villages, abbeys and
Cathar castles and taste local produce including honey, olive oil and
chèvre.
Your holiday
will be based in or close to the medieval Cité of Carcassonne, a UNESCO
World Heritage site and the jewel in the crown of the Aude department.
It was built on a rocky outcrop on the banks of the river Aude from
where it surveys the modern town below. It was restored in the 19th
century to its former glory as the once impregnable stronghold of the
Middle Ages.
Many people visit la Cité and never realise that
this is just one of the many incredible places the region has to offer. Just
a stone’s throw away are other beautiful places such as the villages of
Lagrasse and Minerve, the Cathar chateaux of Queribus and
Peyreperteuse, abbeys such as Fontfoid and Caunes and of course the
spectacular Canal du Midi.
